Bend Jeep® Tours Frequently Asked Questions

DO WE NEED TO MAKE ADVANCE RESERVATIONS?

In order to ensure seat availability on the date and time you desire, we recommend making reservations in advance. Please call 541.797.3678 with any questions or to make SAME DAY or special arrangements, including child safety seat requests.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour to receive a full refund. You may also reschedule your tour for a later time if you're unable to cancel 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour.

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN GO ON EACH TOUR?

Our Jeep®Wrangler holds up to 5 guests per tour.

WILL THERE BE OTHER GUESTS IN THE VEHICLE ON OUR TOUR?

Yes! Our experience is the more the merrier! However, on a serious note, providing off-road access to the pristine natural beauty of the Deschutes River and National Forest is a privilege that Bend Jeep® Tours doesn't take lightly. Our goal is to fill every Jeep® in order to "tread lightly" and lessen our carbon footprint.

CAN WE HAVE A PRIVATE JEEP® TOUR?

Yes. You can call and request your own private Jeep® tour by purchasing each of the 5 available seats. Please call us at 541.797.3678 or email us at bendjeeptours@gmail.com for more information.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR SENIORS?

At Bend Jeep® Tours, we not only offer discounts to seniors over 60 and children under 10 - we proudly offer discounts to active and retired military personnel. The discount is reflected in the ticket price at booking (ID required at boarding).

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR CHILDREN ON THE TOURS?

All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Also, to ensure the safety of your little ones, children must be over 18 months to be a guest on the tour.

ARE PETS ALLOWED ON THE TOUR?

Bend Jeep® Tours welcomes service animals on our tours. Friendly, non-service pets are also allowed on our tours, subject to U.S. Forest Service rules and regulations, including proper leashing. Please contact us at info@bendjeeptours.com or 541.797.3678 to make arrangements for your service animals and/or pets so that we may ensure the seating, comfort, and safety of all guests.

WHAT IS THE TIMING OF THE JEEP® TOURS?

Our Jeep® tours begin at 6:00 AM and the last tour departs at 6:00 PM local time. Each tour lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (subject to traffic and weather conditions and U.S. Forest Service restrictions).   Please contact us directly at 541.797.3678 for specific requests and further information.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN FOR OUR TOUR?

We offer local pick-ups in Bend at no additional charge. If you are not staying in the city of Bend, please call to arrange pick-up in the local public parking structure located downtown 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time.

ARE YOUR TOURS REALLY "OFF-ROAD?"

Yes! Our tours are on pavement until we reach our "off-road" trail destinations. So come prepared for a little dust and a few bumps as we take you to see what lies at the "Top of the World."

WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHING SHOULD WE BRING OR WEAR?

Although you wouldn't know it from all the water and trees, Bend is actually part of Central Oregon's high desert region. You are encouraged to dress in layers (including a jacket for colder days as well as the morning and evening tours), wear a hat and use sunscreen. You should also wear comfortable walking shoes and DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!

ARE THERE RESTROOMS ON THE TOURS?

There are two U.S. Forest restrooms along the route. However, we highly recommend using the restroom prior to your tour departure.

DO WE DO ANY HIKING ON YOUR TOURS?

Although you will discover many pristine areas to hike in the future, because the mission of Bend Jeep® Tours is to provide equal access to the natural beauty within the U.S. Forest, out of vehicle activity is limited to exiting the Jeep® for nearby photographic opportunities.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Rain or shine, our Jeep® tours go on, so make sure you dress accordingly! After all, rain makes for beautiful rainbows and flowing waterfalls. However, safety is our first priority. In the event of unsafe conditions or unique weather, Bend Jeep® Tours reserves the right to alter, modify, or cancel any tours.

SHOULD I TIP MY TOUR GUIDE AND IF SO, HOW MUCH?

If you feel your guide delivered an exceptional tour, they will gladly accept tips. We can add the gratuity to your credit card or you can tip your tour guide directly.

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN MEALS AND EAT IN THE JEEP®?

While we do not allow meals or glass containers, we highly encourage plastic bottles of water and snacks for children. As stewards of our National Forests, we must be sure that anything brought in is brought out.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE A “U.S. FOREST SERVICE PERMITTED COMPANY?”

The Forest Service issues permits for commercial companies to use the various forest trails and land. As a permitted company, Bend Jeep® Tours adheres to U.S. Forest Service regulations which requires insurance, and CPR and first-aid training for all guides. We also limit the number of Jeep® tours allowed on the trails at one time and provide royalty fees to the U.S. Forest Service for the use of public lands.
